Tuesday marks the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and the New York Police Department is carrying out a social media campaign to memorialize the officers killed in the line of duty that day.
The NYPD has been tweeting the name and rank of its fallen members on its official Twitter account, @NYPDnews, since Saturday. Each tweet links to a Facebook page with a photo and more details about the officer, along with the hashtag #neverforget.
